Building Department

Location: Town Hall, 101 North Cooper Avenue
Building permit applications can be obtained at Town Hall. All applications and plans are to be submitted to Town Hall. Plan review shall be performed within 3 to 5 days of receipt of plans for 1, 2 and 3 family dwellings. Plans to be reviewed under the requirements of the Ohio Basic Building Code (commercial, industrial, etc.) will be reviewed within 5 to 10 working days. Building Department questions can be addressed by calling 1.800.748.7704. A Special Note to Residents: Our Building Department is operated by National Inspection Corporation and all inspectors and plan reviewers will always use clearly marked inspection vehicles!

The Lockland Police Department employees 13 full-time, 4 part-time and 2 auxiliary State Certified Police Officers. The department is specialized and includes officers dedicated to crime prevention, investigations, and traffic control. The department also has an active Community Policing Program (COPS), Specialized area drug enforcement units and SWAT Teams are available to assist, or be assisted by Lockland officers. The department has complete in-house computerization, including National Crime Information Access.

The Lockland Fire Department was established in 1894. Since then it has grown from a department of volunteers with horse-drawn equipment to a Fire Department equipped with state-of-the-art fire apparatus. The department has a combination of a strong, dedicated force of fifty-five Volunteers (paid-per-call) with part-time employees from 6 am to 6 pm (Monday through Friday) under the direction of a full-time Chief. Lockland was one of the first small departments in the Greater Cincinnati area to achieve an ISO 4 Rating, two decades ago. Equipment includes:
  • 2 Class A Engines
  • 1 Custom 75 foot Quint
  • 1 Custom Medium Rescue Truck
  • 2 BLS Ambulances - AED Equipped
  • 1 Specialized ATV/Quad Unit
  • 1 Staff Vehicle Equipped as First Responder Units

 

 

 

 

 

Additional equipment is available from surrounding communities and other departments in the county under the Mutual Aid Pact, which includes specialized units such as the Greater Cincinnati Hazardous Material Unit, the Hamilton County Urban Search and Rescue Team and the Specialized County Arson Team.

Service and sanitation are within the Public Works Department. The Village provides residents with set-out/set-back service for weekly collection of refuse. In addition, a recycling/drop-off center conveniently located on North Cooper, across from Town Hall, is available to businesses and residents. Other services include:

All or parts of the Lockland park facilities are available for use to the citizens and businesses of Lockland. Reservations must be made in advance through the Recreation Department by obtaining a park permit. All permits are processed on a first-come first-served basis.

Lockland boasts a very active recreational department. In the spring, youths from 6-12 years old have the opportunity to sign up for baseball. In the fall, basketball is offered. There are also many seasonal activities for all ages to participate in that help to create a close sense of community in Lockland. Check the Calendar for details of upcoming events, such as picnics or parties in the park.
